The installation is based on what could be defined as a “real-time inverted Chroma key”.

 

Also, by using a webcam pointed at a sheet, a first Chroma key changes the sheet’s colour to pure white, giving the projector the additional role of “light source”.

This light allows the second Chroma key to easily identify the subject in front of the sheet, using its “non white” silhouette as a mask to break through the pure white projection and display the quotes' texture.
