The installation “PORTR(AI)T” shows what my dissertation,
“PORTR(AI)T: Il ritratto della società”, consists of, representing both a union between man and artificial intelligence as well as the internet’s real-time capture which made the creation of AI possible.
It does so by crystallizing the “flow” of content on the web of which Paul Souellis writes about in "Performing the Feed".

The installation consists of two monitors:

  • The first one cyclically shows one of the 28 “portraits” created and described by two artificial intelligences which I made interact.

  • The second shows 4 internet pages viewed vertically in which the key words of the paintings’ descriptions are searched for in 9 different search engines. These descriptions are read out loud by a third AI. The entire installation was coded in VVVV, a node programming language.
